Some people have contacted me recently saying that Remembary crashes on them soon after starting up. No the app isn't permanently broken - it's just a hiccup with the iOS Photo Library, and it's easy to fix.

All you need to do is take a picture with your iPad's camera or, if you're still on a first-generation iPad, take a screen-shot by holding down the home and power buttons at the same time.

Adding a new image seems to do the digital equivalent of "hitting the side of the TV to fix the picture" to the Photo Library, and Remembary then works again properly.

(I've done a lot of research into this behaviour and as far as I can tell it's caused by a low-level bug in Apple's photo library code. Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be a way to contain the error before it crashes the entire application. Hopefully they'll have this (and other photo library problems) fixed a future version of iOS.)
